What you receive

An unstitched drape, with an unstitched blouse piece attached to the saree and included in the price. Fall, pico and edge finishing can be added on request.

How it is woven

The loom is a pit loom and the weft goes in by hand. Flower buti and border design are dobby-set on body, border and pallu. Nothing in this saree is machine-woven, and the weaver confirms it. Handloom Mark held, registration on record. Tassels, selvedge and edges come finished, and no piece is dispatched without a check.

The border

The border is woven bugdi, so the border design reads the same on both faces. The design is a double design border, two parallel border designs worked together in golden zari, with flower buti repeating across body and pallu.

Colour

Wash and rub testing shows the colour to be fast on every shade we weave. Display calibration is the variable, so expect a small difference between screen and cloth.

Care and storage

Dry Clean Only. Followed in this order:

1. Professional dry clean only.
2. Air-dry in the shade. Never wring the cloth.
3. Iron inside out on a low to medium setting, under a cotton press cloth.
4. Store wrapped in breathable cotton or muslin, in a cool dark cupboard.
5. Refold every three to six months.

Dispatch

The piece is already woven and in stock. About half of all orders are dispatched next day, most within two to three days, and most arrive in three to seven days within India. Small irregularities in the weave are characteristic of hand weaving and are present in these finished pieces.
