The print

The design is an all-over Warli-style print of small figures, huts, trees and animals. It is printed digitally in Bangalore by a specialist print studio, with the same repeat used on every piece, so the colour and pattern arrive as drawn.

The pallu

At the end sits a wide navy panel, its horizontal bands packed with repeating human figures and geometric motifs — the concentrated version of the small figures scattered across the body. A narrow navy border, itself patterned with geometric tribal shapes, runs the length.

The drape

It is soft and smooth with a fluid, lightweight fall — 6.2 to 6.3 metres in total at 44 to 45 inches wide, made up of a 5.5 metre drape and a 0.8 metre (80 cm) running blouse piece continuous with it. The whole thing weighs about 425 grams, so it carries easily through a long day.

Because it is printed from one digital file, the small Warli figures repeat cleanly the whole way — the colour and pattern you see is what arrives, piece to piece.

Wearing it

Its light weight, matte surface and easy fall suit office wear, daily wear and casual daytime outings. The earthy beige with a deep navy reads quiet and modern, which is why it sits as easily at a desk as on a weekend outing.
