What you receive

An unstitched drape, with an unstitched blouse piece attached to the saree and included in the price. Fall, pico and edge finishing are available on request.

How it is woven

Woven on a pit loom with the weft going in by hand. Nothing here is machine-woven, and the weaver confirms each piece. The flower buti and the border are set on a dobby, on body, border and pallu alike. The Handloom Mark is held with the registration on record. Every saree is checked before dispatch, with the pallu tassels, selvedge and edges finished.

The border

The border is a bugdi: the woven border design reads the same on both faces. The design is a double design border, two parallel border designs worked together in golden zari, with flower buti repeating across body and pallu.

Colour

Screens render colour differently, so the shade on your display may vary a little from the saree that arrives. Colour is fast on both wash and rub testing, across every colour in the range.

Care and storage

Dry Clean Only. The full routine, in order:

1. Professional dry clean only.
2. Air-dry in the shade. Never wring the cloth.
3. Iron inside out on a low to medium setting, under a cotton press cloth.
4. Store wrapped in breathable cotton or muslin, in a cool dark cupboard.
5. Refold every three to six months.

Dispatch

These sarees are held in stock rather than made to order, so hand weaving does not slow the delivery. About half of all orders are dispatched the next working day and most within two to three days, reaching most addresses in India in three to seven days. Slight irregularities appear in hand-woven cloth. They are characteristic of the making and are present in these finished pieces.
