A beige drape carries a graphic black Warli print of figures, huts and trees throughout.

Why this piece

  • Opaque and light — a measured 50 GSM, so nothing shows through the beige ground.
  • Consistent print — the black reads clean against the beige because every piece is printed to the same repeat.
  • Wide black pallu — a wide black pallu of Warli figure bands and stylised hut motifs, closed by a narrow black geometric border, the feature that sets this drape apart from the ones beside it.

The print

The design is an all-over Warli-style print of figures, huts, trees and geometric structures. It is printed digitally in Bangalore by a specialist print studio, with the same repeat used on every piece, so the colour and pattern arrive as drawn.

The pallu

A wide, dark pallu closes the drape — bands of Warli figures and stylised huts separated by fine geometric lines, the strongest contrast the piece holds. A narrow black border with a small repeating geometric stripe runs the length.

The drape

It is soft and smooth with a fluid, lightweight fall — 6.2 to 6.3 metres in total at 44 to 45 inches wide, made up of a 5.5 metre drape and a 0.8 metre (80 cm) running blouse piece continuous with it. The whole thing weighs about 425 grams, so it carries easily through a long day.

The matching 80 cm blouse piece is continuous with the drape and included — no separate black blouse fabric to source or pay for on the side.

Wearing it

Its light weight, matte surface and easy fall suit office wear, contemporary daily wear and casual evenings. The beige-and-black scheme reads clean and graphic, which is why it suits a modern workday wardrobe as much as a relaxed evening.

Colour hues may vary slightly from the images because of different screens and displays.
